??? ON fire up

Hey pellet heads, I fired up my FEC 100 for the 1st time today. I followed the instructions on 1 time fire ups, with turning it on and waiting 10 minutes and shutting it off then refireing it up. Is this for the Initial fire and not for every time you start it? It wasn't real clear.

It takes about 10min for the pellets to get from the hopper to the fire pot.The igniter only stays on about 3min.Make sure the pellets are in the fire pot then turn the cooker off and back on .The igniter will come on for 3min, and light the pellets.

What I do is place a couple handfulls of pellets in the fire pot then turn thermo to 250*.Then, when there is good smoke, set the temp where you wanr it!

Thanks all for your imput. Smoked 4 ribs with differant spices and 6 pairs of chickens to try differant styles. All was good some better than others.

I live between Wellston and Chandler. Do you have a Fec? If so which one, If not what would it take to get you to try on?
