I just bought A used 150RC model smoker. I have A lot of pellets left over from my old smoker. Can I use these pellets instead of wood chunks or could I damage the smoker.

I don't think you will damage the smoker but I think you will have soot-covered meat, if the burner/smoker box is designed for chunks..
Why would I have soot covered meat? I was concerned about the pellets burning to hot in the pan can not see how soot would be problem any more than ash residue from wood chunk.
Sorry, I should have been more specific. I think if a wood burning system is designed for keeping large chunks of wood smoldering for hours, with the required heat profile and ventilation system, it would cause pellets to flame up and burn very quickly just because of their much smaller size and much larger surface area for burning. But hey, give it a try, all you can lose is one piece of meat. Good luck!
We have a lot of customer that prefer pellets over wood chunks just remember to start light. The smoke profile is different from the chucks.

Jay1924: I use pellets and wood chips in my SMO66 all the time. I do this when I want a wood that I can't find in chunk form, or if I want smoke on meat that is only going to be in the smoker for a short time. I have never gotten sooty results or have had a fire in the wood box (that I know of).
Idahomike, it seems I've been missing that aspect of smoking with pellets in the electrics, I'd never heard of it. Glad to be educated. It appears my assumptions were unwarranted. Funny that's never happened to me before
