After seasoning the FE for 6hrs. opened it up to put meat in and found about a cup of pellets on the floor. Picked them up and put them in the fire pot. After completing the cook for the smaller of the two butts, I again found about a cup of unburned pellets on the floor. Is this normal. Everything appears to be properly aligned concerning the ramp.
Thanks

Mule the only time i have pellets on the floor is if the the fire went out. I have had hundreds of cooks and maybe 10 pellets on floor from just popping off now and then. But you are saying to be clear good cooks and still pellets on the floor. I would guess shoot alignment. Have u watched them drop just curious.

Called and talked to CS and they really didn't have any answers other than check the alignment and if it was level. I had already checked both of those. I tried bending the corners of the ramp in a little and that seemed to help but haven't cook again since doing that. If that doesn't fix it, I may try to put some aluminum foil on top of the ramp part way up. It seemed some just bounce off the ramp before hitting the fire pot. In my "Got Butts" thread you can see the pellets on the floor of the cooker in one of the pics.
Update on the pellets on the floor. After the last rib cook there was about 1/2 to 3/4 cup of pellets on the floor. I guess the higher temps (275*)increased the amount of total pellets along with the %of misses as well. For the next cook I fashioned a piece of Aluminum Foil over the top of the auger down to the fire pit. I cooked cornbread in it at 398* for about 40 minutes. (High temp circuit breaker tripped) NO PELLETS on the floor after this even with the increased temp. Looks like the fix would be a piece of stainless to cover the auger down to the fire pit. I would have it secured with a screw in case it needed removal for some reason.
