PG1000 Clearance of Top Shelf question

I'm thinking about getting a couple of cast iron 5 qt dutch ovens for my PG 1000...but wasn't sure if they fit on the top shelf.
The dimensions are 10.25" in diameter by 4 inches deep. Would there be enough clearance to use the dutch oven(s) on the top shelf and still close the PG 1000? I think they would be great for side dishes and desserts.

If I remember tonight I'll check. I know you would have to watch the thermometer stem as I'm sure that would not clear.

Inside Dimension on the top shelf is 9 3/4". You can reverse it (upside down) and then the edge of the DO could extend just a little bit.

I took a 10.5" diameter DO, mine is 6" tall with the lid on and 4.5" tall without the lid. With the lid on the grill lid would not quite shut but without the lid it was no problem so you should be good to go

Thanks for the replies. I guess I could cover the dutch oven with foil while cooking so that the lid will shut.

Can't wait to get my grill!
