are there any good user/owner pics of the smokette on the forum? I still cannot get a mental picture of the actual size and capacity. I have searched and found a few pics here, but nothing to give it any scale or see a loaded smokette doing its thing! The pics on Cookshack website are ok, but I wanted a closer look! I still got the fever!!

Thanks, Jim in Alabama

Jim, There are many pictures of the actual unit on many websites. I too couldn't visualize what this "smoker" would look like in real time. I received mine(model 009) the other day and was amazed at how small it seemed in person. I am confident that it will produce magnificant results with enough room. I am as I am writing this seanoning the unit for briskets and ribs saturday and sunday... Try visualizing a box that is Knee high with a width of finger to elbow and a depth of finger to elbow plus and inch or two. It is hard to describe when your expecting something like a real pit with smoker box and get something much smaller... but as I say I beieve it will be terrific!!!!

I'll let you know in the am how the seasoning went.
Tuma2you... I agree. The pictures, even knowing the measurements make the unit look larger. You hit the nail on the head. May I ask, have you used your smokette and like it so much that you are trading up or just right off the bat your want more room? Just curious...

Licken de chops!!!!
I have tried it. Did a couple of yardbirds the other night and they were, without a doubt, the juiciest things I've ever cooked. I believe Cookshack makes a great product. But for my $, it just makes sense to move up to the larger unit. I would like to make a little side money with this thing. Not an everyday thing, but just get known around this small community as someone that can produce a good quantity of ribs, turkeys, or whatever that isn't Applebees.
Thanks Greyn, I was working from another computer and tried to find some fast photos.

Jim,

I assume you're asking about the one smokette with a pan full of beans in the photo. Since that pan probably wasn't there for the full cook, it wouldn't be an issue with airflow.

You need to just think in terms of capacity. There are 3 14" square shelves in the Smokette and 5 in the Model 5. Yes you can cram them full of too much stuff so I think that might help you a little better.

I'd ask this question:

How much can you put in your Smokette at one time
Thanks for the pics SmokinOkie. It gives me alot better idea of the capacity. By my asking about the capacity, I did mean "how much can I put in the Smokette at one time." A picture is worth a thousand words in this case. I can see the Smokette will be large enough for my needs. I seldom cook for more than the five of us in my home. If I do, its never for more than ten folks. I can always use the WSM AND the Smokette if I need to.

PS-I think one of those pics is of a ST!
