Team Holy Hog, out for only their second contest, came in 14th overall but with a first place finish in brisket. And this was on their two FEC 100s. Way to go, Holy Hog!

Congrats! Stories like this really get me charged up, cause I'm a wanna be comp cook. I can only dream of my 1st walk, gotta be a real thrill.

Win or lose, it's an emotional roller coaster. With a tried and true, airtight game plan..you're half way home. Give it a shot Cal...it's nice to be on the other side of the judge's tent.
What is even more interesting,now that you are becoming a seasoned judge and see the inside with high tables and low tables, is when your scores come back with three top fives and a 35. 
Or,the day you are at the 100 team contest and you loose your category by 0.002 pts.

I should also point out that the same team, on their first contest, was DAL on brisket. And a little help never hurts. No different than going to a cooking class with some BBQ winner.
