I had friends over the other day. I smoked a few racks of BB's, did some pulled pork, beans, coleslaw, and corn bread.

I then went to the store and bought takeout containers(like the sectionals).

Filled the containers, kept them in the oven, and told them(work friends in area didn't know about the CS) I didn't cook but ordered.

They wanted to know where this place was. They never had BBQ soooo good and wanted to know what new business opened up. They almost fell to the floor when the found out it was home cooked.

I LOVE MY CS. It's like a child to me. Poor thing, it's outside. BUT....
thank god I can still cook without altering the cook time while the wind chill is -14 today in NH.

ahhh the $$$ pays off....

Great story dmac, my smoker "lives" outside too and I'm amazed at how durable and touble free that these critters are even when unprotected from the weather. These photos were taken between snow storms (The first was two feet and the second one foot). I had to shovel my way to the smoker to put in a butt that I was doing. The outside temp was 20 degrees. The result? Great butt, crappy weather!

I'D KILL for fresh Appalachicola oysters (sorry about the spelling...wish we had a spell checker on the forum). A couple of years ago I was in Destin Beach at a little place in a strip mall called "Busters". During Happy Hour they served a dozen oysters and a pitcher of Bud for $4.00. I ate myself into a coma.

Smokin', that "white stuff" is pure, unadulterated, Wasatch mountain world famous powder snow. Great for rapidly cooling hard boiled eggs prior to peeling, cooling peel & eat shrimp (so as not to allow the cooking process to continue), and, if you screw up and take the internal temp of meat higher than you wanted, wrap it & throw it into a snow bank and the cooking stops Smiler

Hey, Demac, great story.

Hey, Chateau,great pics.

Hey, SmokinOkie, did you see the pics? That's what I'm talkn' about. The "Cookshack in Context." Utah context, but it'll do. Put it in the gallery.

A picture tells 1000 words. Beginning with, "...it's cold as hell..."

Hey, Stuart, did you see how short that Smokett is? Dang! Can't you put some legs on that puppy? Chateau is a skier from Utah. Very flexible. I'm an old redneck with a bad back. Ain't going to have nothing to do with a butt below my belt!
(Hmmmm. Does that sound odd?)

I quit grubbing potatoes years ago. Not going down for no electric smoker. I'm at a vertical phase in my career.

Cool
