Just smoked my first pork butt in my SMO45 for a pot luck at work.

2 8# butts, rubbed with Butt Rub brand seasoning, started at 9:30 PM at 190 degrees,
increased to 225 degrees at 8 am, pulled at 190 degrees about 4 pm.

Added a little of Smokin's finishing sauce, and it's ready to go. (pot luck is tomorrow) Placed in 2 large vacuum seal bags for easy reheating in the microwave.

We, of course, had a portion for dinner- great tasting sandwiches.

Still lots of things to try (and of course, more pics)

I can only hope my first project comes out looking that good. Can I ask where you found the rub locally? Or did you order it online? I am in the area of Cherry Creek State park and guessing you are not far from here if you know Bennett's Englewood? Since I just got the smoker I am still exploring for a good meat shop and seasonings. I plan to build my own rub at one point though.

Thanks in advance,
Ron
