QUESTION FOR THE GROUP

I recently bought a cs sm008 and I am very pleased with its performance. I only wish I could get more ribs in it. Looking at the accessories and replacement parts pages on cs website I saw the Five slot side racks, pm022. Have any of you had any experience using this option to add 2 extra cooking grids to your smokette. This would allow me to add 2 racks of ribs (one rack halved on each grid), has anyone done this? I have several other concerns about doing this...is the space between the grids wide enough for rib racks or is it designed for thin items such as fish or jerkey? Would the bottom grid be too close to the heat? Will the smokers added load be too much for the 500 watt heating element? It will cost me around $100.00 to purchase the side racks and grids, so I would really appreciate any advise you could give regarding this matter.

Get the rib racks. Then you can put 6 or so ribs on each shelf.

Go for the rib racks

As for the extra load the smokers seem to have better hear control the more you put into them, to a point, as long as the air can circulate

Don't believe rib racks are available for the 008-009. You can always give cookshack a call.

Cookshack sells rib hooks for the 009. You can suspend the ribs vertically from the top rack position.
