Recommended dealers

You have sales reps around the country,but your go to dealer will be the Cookshack plant,sales and service.

Which is a good thing.

Okay - maybe I worded that wrong. Does anyone have a recommended sales rep. for the Central NC or Southern VA area?

Is there a particular reason you would seek a "local dealer",and what type of unit are you looking for.

CS did not really start much of a "dealer" operation of the FEC s,until the last year,or so,and it is pretty small.

Many bbq,pool supply stores,etc may carry a small traditional unit, and order anything else to be shipped to you from the plant.

There are several cooks/users of FEC s around, that can show you their personal units,and put in your order to the plant.

I know several folks,from the comp circuit,that can order you an FEC,but I'd guess a showroom operation would be rare.

The one store out in Ca,might have a couple display units.

Supplies will still be ordered,by you,from the plant.

If you can be specific,maybe someone can jump in and help.

We live in Florida and I have bought from both THECHARCOALSTORE.COM in Minn and also WESTCOASTBBQ in California. They both ship Free to business or charge $125 tailgate fee at your house. Both are currently selling them for the same price last week, fec-100 $3195.00
Dave at the Charcoal Store has been great to deal with.

My thought was it could be purchased slightly cheaper locally (or online) vs. directly from CookShack. The links Hog Smith (thank you by the way) prove that point. Westcoastbbq sells it for $3149 vs. $3595 direct from CS. That is approx. a 12% savings - not chump change.

Everything I've read - Cookshack stands behind their product regardless of where it was purchased. So why not save a couple of dollars by asking the question to the group.

I had a great experience with The Charcoal Store. No sales tax and free shipping plus bonus wood!

When I purchased my unit I contacted Cookshack and they encouraged me to go through the dealer and provided the phone number.

The dealer I was referred to was BerVel

Larry mentions in one of the topics posted on his website that the fe's he sells has 7 racks. Is this an add on I can add to my 4 racker, or are they built different?

It is just a different set of side racks and three additional sliding racks.

I ordered mine from Rod Gray from Pellet Envy. He is a great guy to deal with! He answered every dumb and some not so dumb questions I had. He still answers questions about the FEC operation. He even gives great tips for your cooking.

I just bought mine from BBQ Island. I found the best price online and asked them if they could compete, they matched the price and not only made me happy but now have a new account to supply. My suggestion is to find the best deal then ask for a competitive bid.

I called cookshack and talked to John Shiflet, who treated me excellent and answered all my questions, then placed my order for me, I would complain but he did everything as perfect as he could.

I got my new FEC from James at Extreme BBQ Trailers in Memphis. GREAT guy to deal with.

I talked to a few dist when i was looking for my FEC 100. No one could touch his price with shipping to CA. I even had a load of pellets and accessories added to the pallet which of course didnt increase the price at all. Took about a week to get here as well.
