The wife /co-cook found a clear plastic sponge holder, with a suction cup, that sticks to your home sink.

Stick them to the FEC,by the exhaust, and run your cords through the exhaust.Use as many as you have remotes.

If we are using top racks,we set them on top and run the cords through the door.

Hope this helps a little.

Guess it depends on the length of your wire.

When I run the probe out the vent, they're not long enough to go on top. I open the door too much during competitions to worry about if I'm closing the door on the wire.

Tom,I like your idea, hadn't heard that one.
smokin,
we just route the meat temp thermos thru the door. the gasket doesn't seem to mind and so far the taylor cords haven't minded. guess we must just be lucky cause i didn't know you couldn't shut the door on the cords
in other words ignorance is truly bliss.
but now you have me worried

I have about 3 different types of thermometers and it seems like they all have short cords. When I'm on the top 2 shelves I set them on top and close the door on them. For the bottom 2 shelves they won't reach so I run them out the vent and tape them to the top of the vent. I'll have to look for the suction cup holders. But what would be great is if there were long cords that would go out the vent and reach to the top of the FEC.
It would be nice if ccokshack could come up with somethingto help with this and sell the thermometers, long cords and holder as a package.

Cookshack does a great job at producing great cookers, with great service.

I think it is a good corporate decision to support the forum,to allow us to lead each other to appropriate fixes, rather than trying to be a superwally.

Radio Shack sells the components, to make cable extensions,of whatever lenghth we need.

100 foot extensions,cause about 1-2 variations.

I believe Shingleman gave all the exact part numbers,in a post a few years ago.

I'll look around.
I'm certainly no "gadget guru",either.

Next time you get to Lexington,or the closest Radio Shack store, take a therm and ask them to look at it and recommend the parts.

For awhile, they even sold remote therms.

Back before Maverick was making the wireless, folks were trying to figure ways not to go out in the snow and check temps.

I'd try that plastic, rubber sponge holder.

It works well for us ,on the comp circuit.
