If you aren't worried about losing power altogether,which is rare-

On your Smokette,another low tech option is have the cooker running at an actual 200º.It won't overcook the big meats.

When you get home,kick it up to max and have a cold drink.

Part of being a cook is making the cooker work for you,and a little experience will make it easy.
