I have had my FEC 100 for about 2 weeks. Did baby back ribs & chicken last night. I did the entire cook & toward the end of my cook, I came outside & my unit was off? I thought it was the outlet, so I reset it. It didn't come on?? So today I tried again, didn't come on?? I tried different outlets & determined it had to have a reset button. So I took off the 4 screws , looked inside & found a little green button. I pressed it & it came right on! I don't know why it shut down, but I felt like a champ! Has anyone else had this issue & what caused it?
Thanks Jeff

Guys thanks for the response! Of course I did the search first. Thats how I knew about the high limit switch! Very useful forum. I have been lurking around here for a while prior to coming out!
By the way the my first ribs were kick ass! I am going to fire up multiple briskets Wednesday and some butts on Friday.
I really have to nail down a turkey over the week or so. I have to do a few for turkey day. I did one last week & it was caca!

Start a new thread and we can discuss it. The FE does great on Turkey.

Here an example of what I did a year or so ago. Also check out Turkey 101 (top of the Turkey forum)

Turkey Report 2007:
1: Which smoker: FEC 100 w/IQ4, Hickory & Pecan
2. Turkey Size: 20, 20, 13, 13
3. Preps: 48 hours in Brine (modified S.O.)
4. Smoker temp: 275
5. Total Time: 4.5, 4.5, 3, 3
6. Comments: Cooked one of the larges ones for a friend. Did one Cajun style per our discussions last year, other two normal. All came out great. Just cooked up great. Took all the turkey's and I'm making Turkey Stock to freeze
