I have had my FEC 100 since August and love what I'm producing (only a little prejudious). I have only had BBQ at restuarants 3 times since getting the FEC and have been disappointed all 3 times. 2 of the times was this weekend because I was out of town and I wanted to try others stuff to get ideas but I was disappointed. Does this happen to everyone once they start doing their own stuff regularly or did I just have bad luck this weekend?

Very few of the places I visit while traveling seem to match up to my homemade Q. One might say I'm a bit prejudice but isn't there some kiind of saying that "food always tastes better when someone else does the work?" Maybe it's because it's not a whole lot of work when using the CS-style smokers Smiler KY. Mtn. Smoker, I agree with your findings!
Sam Walton used to advise you pick out the few good things they do,and steal them.

We like to try them all and try to find something to enjoy about the experience-might be the music, the parking lot,the crowd, the cold beer, etc.

But yep, your own cooking spoils ya quick.

Amazing how at contests ,the teams go out for pizza,Tex-Mex,chinese,seafood. Big Grin
