This is for all my east and central Fl forum members.

The Sam's in Melbourne has IBP choice packer briskets out for $1.09.

They all seemed to run 10-11 lbs.

They never have had whole briskets and the meat guy says "he guesses they are trying them for now".

It might be worth a call to your local Sam's to see if they are on the list.

I only picked out eight-the wife will be so excited when she gets home. Big Grin

Hi Tom!

I just discovered a Sam's Club meat market in South Bend. Our local store does not have one.

I was in SB Wed. and talked with the meat Dept. manager. They buy only choice meats at ALL Sam's locations. He told me that Wal-Mart normally only sells select meats(that seems to be true in briskets). I saw whole beef tenderloins, choice grade, for only $8.99/lb. and chicken thighs for only $.77/lb.

I ended up buying a case of baby back ribs... 32.5lbs., 3/package cryovac for $2.86/lb. That is their regular price! The individual price was only $2.99/lb.

That is about HALF what I pay here in town! Unbelievable!!

Needless to say, I now travel with a cooler in the back seat!!

You who have a Sam's meat market are indeed lucky!

Well, I just got one from Sam's (my wife is not so tolerant), but it was Choice, and I aced it! So, finally getting somewhere. Did the burnt ends thing, too. It was great, but I would like to learn more. So much fat on these packers' cuts. Doggit!
Best brisket to date.

(I'm going to miss Andi, I don't care what you say.)
Cool
