just got my 50 prompt delivery as was said.box was alittle beat up but contents in good shape. the side racks bow out alittle on the bottom.any bod y else have that problem? seasoning at this moment empty with wood. I to don't know the type of wood. it's all mixed together.oh well! smells great. just rubbed a bone in butt 8.35 # with the enclosed rib rub, dressedthe rub up alittle I will be smokin tommorow could any one help me with timing thanks Larry smokin in my dreams Red Face

Mornin' and welcome,

The side racks are thin and they'll be ok.

The box of wood should have been labeled.
Give them a call at sales and they should be able to answer.

It is probably hickory.

For overall planning,you can think about 2 hrs/lb.[depending on how much door opening and the temp you cook at]

For a first cook,I'd pull it out by 200�internal,or whenever the bone feels loose.

While you are waiting on it,read the pork butt 101 and some of the archives on pork.
