I have a friend who would like me to smoke some trout for him in my Smokette. Has anyone ever found smoking fish left a fishy odor, or is leaving a fishy smell something I don't really need to worry about? If it does leave an odor, what is the best way to clean the Smokette to get the odor out?

Hi Bruce,

Fear not! I've smoked 20 lbs. of trout over the past 3 weeks and there's no lingering fish smell whatsoever. Just be sure that the trout are nice and fresh...and "fresh" can include frozen assuming they were processed shortly after being caught.
