Smoker Very Hot!!

I have had a new FEC100 for about two months and the outside of the smoker gets very hot to the touch, even with the cover on. I thought that the smoker had good insulation and would not have very much heat loss. Is this normal?

I'm not used to either of mine,or our comp cookers getting very hot.

I'd call service and talk to them.

The front edge, near the opening, is the only part that gets hot; unless you count stainless steel in direct sun.
