Been using my Smokette for about a week now and have enjoyed it very much. One of my biggest hang ups with it is it's hard to move around. I bought the cart for it as well and can't believe it doen't come with 4 casters so it can be easily moved around in an area.

I am currently searching for casters to put on my cart.

My Smokette was just delivered today, and is seasoning right now. I tried to move it and discovered that the wheels are rubbing against the piece of metal that makes up the back of the unit. The wheels don't turn at all. They just skid and they left skid marks on the deck. Has anyone else had this problem? I suppose I could try to grind some of the rubber off the wheels, but I'm open to suggestions. Confused
Thanks Smokin. I spoke to customer service and they offered to send a new unit, and alternatively, told me how to fix it myself. Seems when the back was screwed on, it slipped down just a fraction...enough to make contact with the wheels. CS suggested that I remove the back panel, slide it up, then screw it back in. That wasn't going to work without stripping out the screw holes. I thought about removing the casters and putting a washer over the stem on the outside of the cooker. What I did end up doing was to loosen the casters, turn them around so that they are more under the cooker rather than protruding out the back. This works fine, but I have to tilt it a bit more than normal to move it, which is not a problem for me.
I've got some beef ribs and some pork rib tips in there now for my first cook. Thanks again for your advice.

I had the same problem with the wheels and I just turned them around to where they were further under the cooker. Called customer service and was told that they should have been installed that way in the first place. Also told I was not the first person with this issue. Hope this helps.
