I wanted a stainless steel cart for my CS009 so I modified a SmokinTex cart. I will be glad to provide details if anyone is interested.

The cart looks great. If I had the 009 instead of the 008, I would also be disappointed in the unavailability of a SS cart. Having said that, I really dig my black enclosed cart. I wish it had 4 lockable casters instead of 2 wheels and 2 legs, however.

Thanks for the welcome GLH. I have been lurking in the background reading and learning from all the great info available on the forum. I have owned my smokette 009 since Dec 05 and have enjoyed it immensely thus far. Since I move my smoker often, one of the major features of the SmokinTex cart is that it has four casters, however only 2 are lockable. Today I will be trying out a recipe for maple glazed baked ham from the Still Smokin' cookbook.

You can add front casters to the Smokette cart. I too was having dificulty moving the smoker and cart around so my husband bought 2 casters at the hardware store and mounted them just behind and alittle towards the center of existing legs. Now the front legs sit just a little off the ground. The bolt tops show on the front ledge of the cart and he had to file them a bit so the door didn't hit them but it all appeared to be a pretty simple fix. Really love being able to move it around easier.

Thanks Mudgie. I ain't as young as I think I am sometimes, so I need to get around to installing those casters.

I made my own cart and added the locking casters. I also added some screw hooks underneith to hang my shelves. Now, I can roll it around anywhere and don't have to get on my knees to pull my finished product!!!!
