Don't forget, the 500 watt element for the 008 and 009 will work easily on a power inverter for your car.

I used this last year for a camping cook andd it was a hit. No real drain on the battery. I played it safe and started the cat 1/2 way through the cook since I was out in the woods.

I have a low end converter and it worked great.

Ahh, you have to love that

How much do the power inverters cost? I'm heading out to the last Phish concerts in VT in August (4 days worth) and would love to bring the cookshack along. Otherwise, guess I'll have to bring the El Cheapo Brinkman, charcoal, etc. etc. etc.

They're not too bad: Northern Hydraulic 750 watt

Harbor Freight 600 watt

Better quality'd be more.

Pile o' jerky or bbq could make you a popular guy at that concert...
