Hi Everyone..I recently bought a Taylor. I put it in water to test it and it was very accurate. Yesterday I cooked a small turkey 7.5lbs. I started the cook at 252 degrees. My thermometer did not even budge. I finished the cook at 325 degrees. It still did not budge. Again it is a Taylor Commercial Hot Holding Thermometer. I retested it in water after the cook and it worked fine..Oh yeah I placed the Taylor right beside the bird..My first turkey turned out fine. Rob

It is just the simple Taylor, from Target,or many of the box stores.

A base unit,with a magnetic back,about a four foot long wire,connected to a probe.

Probe can go into the meat,or just used to measure cavity temp of the cooker.

You can walk through a comp and see several of them setting on cookers, with the wires run thru the edge ,or top of the doors.

They are around $15,or Amazon may run a special with about 3 for $30,and free shipping.

Many other stores sell different brands, and are probably made by the same chinese prisoners.

The probes are often interchangable, among the brands.

Taylor, you can turn off the power,to save batteries. They sell spare probes for about $5,and have good support and warranties. They have a plastic thermal seal where the probe joins the wire.

Hope this helps a little.
