Your gonna need to put 100 MPH(duck tape)tape over the controller if you want to baby sit the smoker...LOL!

The smokers have a warmup program that runs them on high for the first 20 minutes. This is to get the wood going, if you are smoking at low temps. Some of us have learned to dump the heat, if we need to smoke at lower temps, to help with this program.

Glad to hear the smoker is working and your on the way to having FUN.

I can't help it. After smoking all Labor Day weekend on a friends SM050 and the great reviews I got form everyone. I HAD to have one. The new will wear off in a year or to.

Yeah, I can remember sitting out in 10* weather the first winter and just watching the smoker cook brisket. I know just what your going through, heck I had to give frozen Que away so I'd have more room in the freezer,oh well!

Always nice to know your not the only sick pup. From what I e read on the forums I'm in some pretty good company.

I did the same thing the winter I first got my smoker 2.5 years ago...'cept the temp reached 50*.
