Never had this happen before but i started the fec this morning and set the temp to 230 and an hour later the display is still reading 200 and doesnt seem to be climbing at all. Im using the same pellets and everything else is the same. I have 2 butts on the lowest shelf and 2 on the next lowest shelf. Any ideals?

Since it is still a week day,CS service should be open in just a few minutes,so a call can't hurt.

You might check and see how close you have meat to the probe, and possibly blocking the probe.

If the FEC wasn't preheated and the meats were real cold, you have a pretty good sized heat sink.

Turn it up to 300º for a few minutes and see if it is dumping pellets.
I would like to say great minds think alike but i dont think my bbq mind is as great as yours! I had already moved the 3 shelf up 1 spot and sure enough the temp came right up and is holding at 228. I didnt figure that there was anything wrong with the fec as it was dumping pellets and acting normal just wasnt coming up to temp. Now all i have to do is wait till noon and put on the 2 racks of spares i have waiting. Thanks again Tom you are the man.
