Has anyhone ever had this problem with their FE. This last weekend at a competition I could not get my pit up to 350 degrees like I wanted. It was very windy. Someone suggested I tape up the air intake on the side of the hopper. I taped up all but 1/2 inch of the intake and the temperature came right up. Never had this happen before but have never cooked in that much wind either.

Think it's a little windier here, normal have high winds at every contest.

1. When I set it up, I make sure the intake isn't pointed in the wind.

2. I get a 5" vent cap from Home depot and put it over the hole when it's windy.

Be careful, too much wind reduction with the tape will affect the circulation (is that good or bad?)
