In Honor of Top Chef (I may not be as creative as TC, but he'll jump in here with his 2 cents too) and answering Q-Balls email, I wanted to put a post out there.

I'll just start a list (10 or not) of lessons learned to help the new people come up to speed.

For everyone, feel free to add to the list and I�ll put them together into one.

Top Lessons Learned From the Cookshack Forum Members

  • This is not an Exact Science, it�s an Art
  • Read all the advice, but learn from your mistakes
  • Keep A Log
  • Don�t put too much wood in
  • Have fun! Experiment, remember you can eat your mistakes
  • Practice First, it does take a time or two to get it right
  • In order of easy to hardest: Chicken, Pork Butt, Brisket, Ribs

    and the #1 thing to remember�..
  • It�s done, when it�s done
