Transporting FEC100 | Cookshack

I have just purchased a new FEC100. Can these be transported flat on their back in the bed of a pickup or do they need to stand upright? If transported on their back is there anyting that needs to be removed, tied down (other than the entire smoker of course), or preped in any way?

Absolutely.

Have a read through the titles of this owner forum (or search) and you'll see several posts about trailers and trucks and moving them.

Big things are 1) remove the pellets, they'll spill and it's extra weight and 2) remove the racks and rails (you do NOT want anything bouncing inside and damaging the temp sensor.

Oh forgot #3, remove the grease pan BEFORE you tilt it over. Not me, but I've heard a few stories of what happens if you don't
