When I set my Smokette to 150%, the temperatures swing between 176 and 280 continually over a 3 hour period. Am I the first to have this problem and if not, what was your solution?

That was supposed to read 150 degrees F.
everybody claimes that is normal. just us newbees dont know any better. ck. my post just 2 posts down.

You need to do a search on temp fluctuations.
1. If it's set for 150, it has a hard time holding that low a temp, empty.
2. Set it for 225 and see what you get. the typical temp fluctuations are +/- 30 degrees, but the average temps are close to the 225. Hey, it cycles and it's electric, look for the average temp.
