Turkey brine

I'm smoking a turkey for Thankgiving and want to brine it first.My question is my turkey is pre-basted with soulition of 8 percent salt and other junk.Can I pre soak it in water over night to remove some of the solution and should I reduce the amount of salt in brine.Money is tight this year,so a natural turkey isnt in the budget.

IMO I would still brine the turkey. It will help pull out the solution and give you the flavors that you want in your brine. Make sure you brine it long enough. It will also help in cooking a little faster! Good luck.
