Bill showed me a way to shut down the FEC that is simplicity itself. When finished cooking, push the reset button on the IQ4 controller. This will shut down all operations of the FEC with the exception of the blower fan which will continue to run until the unit is turned off.
This does two things:
1. Pellets continue to burn with gusto until they are consummed.
2. The dust in the air plentium and the fire pot are blown out as the fire dies and this will reduce the frequency of vacuuming the fire pot out and removing the fire pot to clean the plentium.
Used it this weekend and it does work. Wish the FEPG500 had this feature.
