I had a new fan installed in my FE yesterday. Today I wanted to cook a turkey. The igniter heated up but the wood would not catch.I started the fire pot manually. No problem..so far. This is where the fun begins. The fire started and the smoke was coming out through the fan underneath the firebox instead of staying in the cooker. My first thought was that I had a fire. But,after a quick check It seemed that the fan was pulling the air out instead of blowing it in. Can anyone tell me what I did wrong..do you think that the fan was installed wrong.

Who installed it (...you had it installed)?

It's not that big a deal, just unplug, open the case up, take the four screws out and reverse it. Your description of "pulling" air, if correct, is not right, it should be pushing air down the auger case.

If you really want, just call Tony or Bill and confirm with them.
