Hi All,

I have a 9 month old FEC-100. The oven temp being displayed on the IQ4 is about 50 degrees lower than what it really is. I monitor the internal temp with a second temp gauge and I know it is accurate. The cookshack temp probe is clean. Any ideas on what could cause the difference? I have 50 pounds of brisket going on the cooker in about 3 hours.

Please help!

It could very possibly be a bad temp guage going to the circuit board. I had this happen one time so I just raised the temp on the smoker until I got the temp I wanted on the secondary guage. I would suggest you keep a close eye on the rest of the cook also. Definitely call CS on Monday.

One other suggestion would be if you have enough smoke on whatever you are smoking, take the meat out and finish it in your oven instead. I will leave this decision up to you.
