I bet newbies ask this all the time, however, I am short on time and have finally reduced my options to the CS line, and will be pointing my wife in the right direction to buy my first smoker for Christmas.

My question to you fellas is, where online can I find the best price for one? Who sells them at a good deal, I hate to pay list for anything. Please help, I appreciate the assistance.

I'd call the Cookshack marketing line and ask them what kind of holiday program they have going.

By the time it shakes out and you fool with a bunch of other people,it will be about the same.

The nice thing about Cookshack is they honor their product and their reputation, from whomever.

I have no connection or interest in the company and I took the same approach you are taking.

Move quick or you may be on the long wish list. Big Grin
I just purchased a Smokette today! I went with Cabelas. Their price seemed to be lower than most. Even if I find it for a few bucks cheaper after the holidays or something it was still quite a bit below MSRP so I don't think I'll beat myself up too much. Plus I get it NOW!!! I can hardly wait! Howdy, tjr.

You're right about that.

The one difference is that Cookshack wants to be sure the product is right and Stuart goes out of his way to recommend solutions and get you up to CS standards on other dealings.

I have seen him recommend what to look for in other's used models and what you might need to change.

Most folks get welcomed into the family. Cool
Hey Idaho, glad to see there is at least 1 more person in Idaho that loves great BBQ and smoked food, heaven knows you have to make it yourself to get anything good around here!!! I bought my smokette through Cabelas after pretty much scouring the web and contacting cookshack directly. I had some points saved up through Cabelas, so I got a pretty good deal and the folks at Cookshack were very helpful in answering my questions. I would highly recommend the smokette as there hasn't been a weekend go by that it hasn't been put to use!
Well, she's a done deal. The wife ordered my "surprise" Christmas present direct from Cookshack, they offered a discount and some other goodies...can't wait to visit this site daily to get some hints on how to use this sucker, it's my first smoker.

Jerky is the first task, I am a jerky nut, and am tired of paying $4 for a small bag of something I could make at home much better.

Thanks for all the recommendations, I am truly looking forward to sssssmokinnnnnn
Idaho.

Welcome, I know you'll be glad you did.

You mention Jerky. It's a frequent topic here on the forum.

If you've got questions. two suggestions.

I'm sure you'll have questions. For questions about a specific topic in smoking, please post in the "open forum".

Also a search will return a lot of information for you.

I did a search (towards the top right of any page there are five links (my profile | register | search | faq | forum home). Click on search, put jerky in the first box. In the second box, select "all open forums" and you will find over 90 jerky references. You can also select just one forum, such as "best of" and you'll get a more selective search.

If you look in Best of you'll find this one:
