I am looking for a style of BBQ Sauce that my great grandmother used to make. She was raised in West Virginia (family was from NC) and made a Q sauce that was "White" not yellow as in a mustard sauce. My dad thinks it had broth, vinegar, brown sugar, red pepper. Mom thinks it was a thickened sauce. Is this NC style Q sauce? If so, does anybody have a good recipe that I can try while they are temporarily relocated here from all those hurricanes in Florida.
