I'm looking forward with great anticipation to using a Smokette (that will be delivered this week) for cooking briskets, butts, and ribs. It will be wonderful to set the temp for these long-cooking items with the turn of a knob and have the temperature hold until it is done.

What about chicken, however, a whole chicken or chicken halves? Do they cook well in an electric cooker, assuming you do everything right? Or should I NOT expect to produce the quality I get cooking chicken indirect in a Weber kettle? If the reality is that chicken isn't as good cooked in a Smokette as a charcoal grill, that not a problem for me. I'm just curious. I look forward to hearing from you of you that are experienced on the Cookshack units.

What's always funny when they at the "other" forum do start flaming, especially about electrics or pellet cookers, they don't mind GRILLIN' to cook chicken. Let's see, cooking on a grill, over wood at 300+ degrees is not BBQ, it's low and slow.

Yeah, we're friendlier here, even mention that in my State of the Forum address, hope you'll read and respond to that thread.

And Mike, G@# is not a bad word, but it's a crutch just like foil. You're okay, I'm feeling good today with today being the forum anniversary (and no one sent me BBQ) so I won't get you for that little slip.
Chicken always turns out great, as long as they didn't have the FLU. I myself love the Rock Cornish game hens. I marinate them in zesty Italian dressing for 2 hours, put a good rub on them, throw them in with 3 oz apple hunks at 225
for 2 hours,, great with Jacks mustard sauce..
