I get a call today from my father asking me what I was doing for the superbowl. I told him that I didn't have plans so he told me he wanted me to come over. He said he had about 10 people were comming and was wondering if he went and got the pork butts, would I smoke them? I see that cookshack will now be involved in the superbowl!!!

Hey Brown it sounds like your a very popular guy ;-) I've got an AmeriQue on order and can't wait to become a little more "popular" myself! I think I'll try a pork butt first since that seems to be the recomendation of the experts. Do you like the CookShack rubs? I guess I'll mix the rib rub and spicy chicken rub together on the pork butt to start off.

Sravaka, I make my own rubs.
1 part sugar, 1 part salt, 1 part spice.

Thanks for the rub info. I definitely plan to experiment with my own mixtures of spices and rubs when I have a few smokes under my belt and get a little "settled" so to speak. I'm really curious what rubs people on this forum like cause there are SO many out there. I also checked out the recipe section here and found a wealth of info as well.
