Model 25.

I have been cooking wings, 4-5 lbs at 225 for 1 hour and 45 minutes with a rub and then taking them off, basting with a honey/bbq sauce and placing on my egg for 3-4 minutes to caramelize the sauce. They have turned out tender and juicy with a great flavor.

I have been cooking these on the top rack. I need to double this quantity so my question is should the cook time be increased for the additional meat and if so how long?

Thanks in advance.

I agree with Pags however Chef does have some experience though with a smoker that I think had a smaller heating element than your 025. While there should be a little added time for the smoker to come up to temp due to putting in more meat, once the smoker is at temp, your cook times should be about the same.

I would think you have an addtional challenge getting all those wings through the caramelization process on the BGE.

The bottom shelf, in the front part, will get a little direct heat. Cooking at only 225* might not be that big of a deal, but when cooking at a higher temp I try to rotate the shelves at some point in the cook.

Like the other fine cooks pointed out, the 750 watt element in this size CS smoker seems to have no trouble keeping a tight cooking schedule, even on larger loads.
