I just received another digital Traeger controller for my FEC 100 after my last one crapped out. It seems pretty straight forward but I noticed that the old controller had the black wire snipped at the molex connector and ran into one side of the temperature limit switch (it's got a little red button, so I'm assuming that's what it is). There's also a wire that runs out the other side of the limit switch down to the power cord. I would assume that since I'm replacing the same controller as before that I should go ahead and wire it the same way? I just wasn't sure if there had been any changes to the controller that would no longer require this sort of bypass from before.
Bill at tech support told me to call him if I have any questions, but of course UPS didn't drop my controller off until late last night, and Cookshack won't be open till Monday. Of course I'm absolutely dying to get this thing running today. Any information that could be provided would be greatly appreciated.

Good to hear... Cause that's how I ran it. All seems to be working. Ran ribs on it last night and got 20lbs of butt on it right now.

Got another quick question for ya.... The new controller that I received doesn't have the 180 setting. Goes from smoke to 225. What's the difference if any? And what are the typical temp fluctuations? I've yet to cook a brisket on it, but have always cooked my brisket at the 180-200 range. I can't seem to hit or hold at that low of a temp. Any suggestions?
