Tom is right about the golf ball idea. When in doubt try the postage scale at work. Also If you have a Fry's in your area they have their digital scales out on display and you could always wheigh a chunk to get an idea of what a paticular size chunk of wood weighs. but the golf ball aproach is nice because that is about the size that also fits under the lid of the wood box.
