hello, this is a bunch of firsts for me. First message and first smokette. I have'nt cooked any food yet and I already have my brinkmann sold to friend. with all the info on the forum I can't miss. I have ruined at least 10 slabs of ribs. Always seem to oversmoke them. Oh well live and learn a better way. I unboxed and seasoned tonight very impressed with the quality. thanks to pork 101 I think i'm ready for the show.

I smoked two slabs tonight they were the best ribs I have ever cooked! 6 hrs to cook 15 mins. to eat. Anyone trying to decide on smokette or offset go with the smokette. I wish I would have done this sooner.Actually had time to mow instead of watch the fire. If anyone is interested you can get a smokette from Northerntool.com and put it on E-Z pay for $65.00 a month for 6 months. Gotta try a brisket now!
Mustang,
Thanks for the info. I'm looking forward to buying one, because I live in New England and it's really tough trying to keep a smoker going in the dead of winter, and God knows I can't go all that time without bbq.

As it is, tonite I'm going start a shoulder which will require the usual "babysitting". Will be nice to just let my CS do it's thing while I get some sleep.

Thanks again..

smoken, glad I could help.I hope your shoulder turned out well. I'm trying one next weekend.I feel your pain, trying to smoke in the winter. Add a 30-40mph wind here.I plan on gaining 15lbs.this winter on the cs diet - 2 slabs and a sensible shake.See ya at the big and tall clothing store. mustang
