I'm interested in buying a pg1000. I have a couple of questions? How many pork butts could you smoke at a time? I'm also looking at the Mak 2 star, what do you like about the pg1000 that made you decide to get that grill?

Check out this thread. The 500 and 1000 are the same grill size, just different hood (more insulation in the 1000) and the side setup:
