Congrats to Mark and Jack. 41 teams. WAY to freaking hot. My truck said 111 in the sun. I know it wasn't that hot, but it was close. Heat advisory. They said it would feel like 116. It did. Nice contest. Few power issues with everyone trying to run A/C units. Would not have made it without ours. Congrats to all that heard their names.

I did Tom, and it's made all the difference. Cooking fat side up now. Was worried that my briskets would dry out if the meat wasn't protected from the heat by the fat, plus I thought the meat above dripping on the next one down was a good way to baste. They don't dry out, and the heat is just enough to set that spice and/or create good bark. We've not left the top ten in brisket since we switched.
