Did Cookshack ever make the SM008 with a private label. I’m speaking of back around 1999/2000. With the Private label of Smokintex. Hope there might be an old timer around or someone from Cookshack who can answer this.

I doubt it since the Smokintex is made in China and the Cookshack is US made, but I could be wrong.
That is what I thought, but I had to wonder if the first year or maybe two of the beginning of Smokintex if this happened. Before ST moved production to China.
I don't know about Smokin Tex, but I had a "Hi Mountain" smoker that was made by Cookshack. Except for being red, it was exactly like a Cookshack 008 that I bought later.

Thanks. The one I saw for ST was green. Had the same markings on mod/Sn plate so I’m going to assume they did so in the beginning before they started getting them from China.

We did private label for SmokinTex for a couple of years before they took it to China and had it made.

If you get that 008 clone, check for rust on the feet. That red one I got was rusted so bad that I had to scarf the sides with new metal for 2 inches and put new feet on. Still works great though. Gave it to brother in law and he's happy with it.
