This has been covered somewhat, but I'd like some opinions. My choices for generator I'm considering are the
yamaha 3000SEB (3.5kw with a boost option) that has a tri-fuel conversion ($2280)
Honda EU3000 ($1900)
Kipor 7000 (~$2000)

I'm only considering the kipor because it's twice the power at a similar price. I am not considering the 3kw kipor.
I like the yamaha with the tri fuel so I can use my big propane tanks and not carry gas with me. without trifuel it's same price as honda.
All three are equivalently quiet, equivalent features (eco throttle) and so on.

thoughts? thanks.

Skippy,
I use two Honda EU 2000I generators with the parallel cabel set up and love them. They are gas only but are very quit and i get about 10 to 12 hours on about 1 gallon of fuel. I have had them almost 5 years, paid eight hundred dollars each plus the parallel cable about fifty dollars. They weight about 50lbs each and are very easy to load and unload. You might look into them a little more and will save you a few bucks.

Thanks Michael. I have a honda 2000, but I'm not in love with the parallel option. A lot of people I trust recommend it, but many of them have helpers. As a 1-man show 99% of the time, I don't want to deal with two generators, 2 gas tanks, and two expensive things that can walk away right after I do. That's one reason I really like the trifuel conversion. I always have propane with me and they'll run 20+hours on a 20# tank.
Justin,
Sorry i could not help, I do not know anything about the yamaha 3000, I called several friends of mine that also use generators and they had no input on the yamaha 3000 either. But if it is dual fuel I think that it's the best way for you to go since you already have lp gas set up for other things.
Michael
