Technically? Yes.

Was a SR is, its a cured part of the meat. Cured like ham, sausage, hotdogs. That's why it's pink. Being cured, it's a slightly different taste.

However, it's also so small, that unless you cut the bark off and cut JUST the pink out, then.... you'll never taste it.

I've NEVER heard someone say they like the SR for the taste; the comments are always about appearance.
