Gene, you wont be dissapointed w/cookshack unit.I had a smokette, now have a 150. Gosh both are really great units. I can throw in a couple of butts in before I go to bed and they are ready in the morning. I have a log burner also and personally I cant stand breathing in all the smoke, espically after an all nite cook.

Gene -- Wise move on your purchase! Tending, stoking and cooling down the fire does get to be a royal pain! No changing of the guard here. Once loaded, the CS is on duty until the job is done!

I think you will be glad you made the purchase the first time you smoke something. The smokette is a great little smoker. There are alot of great topic's on this forum and alot of great people too.Let us know what you smoke and how it turned out.

Well, the thing was invented by a Navy flier, so I guess that tells you something. Not sure what, but something.
I ordered an SS & cart last night. Still haven't received it yet 
I just recently got an SM50 after having smoked using an offset for years...trust me, you haven't made a mistake. The Cookshack is a pleasure to use, and a whole lot less work.
Don't get me wrong...the offset is still part of the lineup, but when it comes to just wanting to make some simple and damn fine Q, the Cookshack is a great way to go!
