I purchased a 5 pound bag of apple wood a few weeks ago and put it in my shed. When I went to use it this weekend I discovered condensation inside the plastic bag and mold on some of the wood. Is it safe to use? Or should I pitch it?

Spread it out to dry in the sun for a day and it should be fine to use. Put it inside in a cardboard box after that.

Not sure the mold will "dry" out. If it's not much of it, I'd just throw the moldy pieces away.
When in doubt, throw it out. Wood is too cheap to risk health issues.
