No Membrane?

Following the expert advice on this board, I always take the membrane off the back side of ribs before smoking. Today with 3 racks: first one peeled off as normal. On the other 2 racks, couldn't find any membrane large enough to grab with fingers or pliers. (Tried bending them to make the membrane stretch-nothing) Are there some ribs with little or no membrane?

Every so often I will get a rack or two that has no membrane. Guess the guys at the processing plant were bored and did it for me.

It takes a keen eye to catch it when there is no membrane. Especially when you expect one there.

Actually they're from the new breed of pork that the pigs have the membrane already removed
