This is one of those questions I have had for over 30 years. You go to a good Q place and they have rib sandwiches. Now the ribs are whole complete with bones, 2 slices of bread. Whats the purpose of the bread?
You certainly can't eat it like a sandwich, taking it apart stipping the meat off the bones doesn't make any sense to me so what's the story here? Cool

In the places I go to, that's exactly how they serve them. You get two slices of bread with everything.

Simple theory is you get more than just a couple of ribs. Many places serve so much sauce you use the bread to sop up the extra sauce.

I see many people just eat the ribs and leave the bread.

If you want a rib sandwich, you have to go to McDonald's... Roll Eyes
I do believe prisonchef said the Q' joint he worked at sells these. Said they were popular.

I wondered about making them pull off the bone tender so you could lay them meat side down and just peel 3 or 4 ribs out, before laying it between the bread slices. Think I'll try that on next rib cook I have.

I grew up a sammich freak. Eeker I'd eat mac-n-cheese on a bun with a little mayo, as well as pile my spaghetti between my garlic bread slices. Not sure if this is due to my bread affliction, or just because I belong to the fast food generation.
