Well it looks like my bargin PG 1000 might not be a bargain after all, it's a 2015 needed some parts is I ordered them from cook shack, when I checked it out the controller all buttons seemed to work fine has a new ignitor so give it a try and yes we have fire. Ok so the last of the parts came today got everything in place and lets give this a test run, set the LHT and the HHT 10-100 and everything was going great until it hit set temp 225 but the temp kept rising so I lowered the HHT to 30 didn't seem to make any difference at all temp kept rising I shut it off at 425. I will vacuum the burn pot out tomorrow and try again. The temp probe inside the smoker was about 20 degrees higher than what the controller was reading which I understand there is going to be a difference.IMG_3108

Thank you, I think I got it just had to go back in time and get the PID control out of my mind and understand this is based on auger run time. It cleaned up pretty good I had to replace the flame tamer the top grate the ash drawer and upgraded the grates on the smoking side to stainless steel. While I was ordering I also bought a new temp probe just in case it was bad.

I paid $320 for it and with new parts I have $590 total in it right now, I had to drive 300 miles round trip to get it but just couldn't pass it up.
